The advantage
More than a labour saving. A stronger control room.
Removing repetitive workload is only the starting point. AI changes how much your control room can handle, how consistently it follows instructions and how clearly you can see what happened.
No breaks. No fatigue.
AI operators do not need meal breaks, sleep or shift relief. Routine coordination can continue around the clock, including overnight and during busy periods.
Handle activations in parallel
One operator can only take one call at a time. AI capacity can be configured for concurrent calls and activations, so one event does not have to occupy the whole control room.
Scale from 10 to 100 concurrent workflows
Plan capacity around the operation you want to run: 10 simultaneous calls or activations, 100, or another agreed level. Telephony, integrations and infrastructure are sized and tested for that target.
The same checks, every shift
Apply agreed site instructions, attendance checks and escalation rules consistently, without relying on an operator's memory at the end of a long shift.
Develop better patrol routes
Configured to your operation
Combine site locations, patrol schedules, response priorities and available teams to support route planning and replanning as the workload changes.
Reporting you can verify
Build reports from timestamped actions and recorded outcomes. Make completed work, missed checks and unresolved exceptions visible, with an evidence trail behind the summary.
Continuity across shifts
Keep incident history, site instructions and outstanding work in one operational record, so the next person can see what happened and what still needs attention.
More capacity for your people
Let AI carry out routine calls, checks and follow-ups while managers focus on decisions, customer needs and exceptions requiring experience.
Concurrency and routing are configured and validated for each deployment. Continuous operation is supported by monitoring, resilience and agreed fallback arrangements.
01 / The operation
24/7 control-room operations, powered by AI
From an incoming alarm, AI checks the site instructions, contacts the right keyholder or patrol and follows the response to a recorded outcome. When an officer calls in sick, it works through replacement cover, checks agreed eligibility records and follows up attendance and time-and-attendance exceptions.
Warden governs what each agent may do and records its actions. Vantage Security puts those agents to work within your procedures, escalating unresolved gaps and decisions to your people.
02 / Response
From alarm receipt to coordinated response
An alarm receiving centre may already be part of your response chain. The AI control room can act on notifications from that arrangement, or on other compatible integrations agreed during deployment. We confirm signal compatibility and the appropriate receiving arrangement during scoping.
- 01
Receive
Take in an alarm notification or operational request from the agreed source, including an existing ARC where applicable.
- 02
Check instructions
Retrieve the site procedure, authorised contacts and relevant response requirements.
- 03
Coordinate action
Contact the right keyholder, patrol or officer according to those instructions.
- 04
Monitor and escalate
Follow the response and bring unresolved or sensitive exceptions to a person.
- 05
Record outcome
Capture the actions taken, contacts made and disposition for review.

03 / Where it works
Built for security businesses and multi-site operations
Guarding, staffing & eligibility
Handle absence notifications, seek replacement officers and check attendance. Check agreed eligibility records and requirements; refer exceptions to your team.
Keyholding & mobile response
Work an alarm activation through the site instructions, coordinate security keyholders or patrols, and monitor the response through to a recorded outcome. Vacant property checks can sit alongside dispatch.
Shared time and attendance
Keep attendance information part of the same operational picture across guarding and mobile teams, so missing check-ins and other exceptions can be followed up.
04 / Governance
Your instructions. Your response teams. Clear accountability.
Site-specific procedures, authorised contacts, schedules and escalation rules define the work. The system acts within those boundaries and makes its steps visible to the people responsible for the operation.
Control-room automation should reflect the way your business actually responds — not replace your judgement about a site, a customer or an exception.
05 / In practice
See AI control-room operations in practice
Two initial deployments show how a configured operation can address very different security workloads. Across SSGC and S2K, 216 control-room labour hours removed per week (108 at each business). Results reported by SSGC and S2K.

Human escalation and a traceable record of every action
Not every event can or should be resolved automatically. The agreed workflow identifies when to contact a person, what information to pass on and how to record the outcome.
That record helps supervisors review actions, investigate exceptions and refine instructions as the operation develops.
07 / Service scope
Alarm receiving, integrations and service scope
The service focuses on operational alarm handling and private-response coordination. For commercial alarm monitoring and remote alarm monitoring workflows, we scope the source of each signal, the available integrations, route-planning inputs and the response steps before commissioning.
Existing accredited routes stay in place where required. A deployment is not, by itself, a claim that Aptic holds NSI or SSAIB accreditation or police-response approval. We confirm signal compatibility and the appropriate receiving arrangement during scoping.
08 / Getting started
Start with a controlled pilot
Map the workflow
Identify event sources, volumes, instructions, current staffing and exception paths.
Configure and validate
Agree permissions and response rules, connect suitable sources, and test in parallel with existing arrangements.
Measure before transition
Review labour, outcomes and exceptions with your team before moving operational responsibility.

AI control room and alarm monitoring FAQs
What does the AI control room actually do?
It handles agreed operational tasks: triaging notifications, checking instructions, coordinating people, monitoring progress and recording outcomes. Its authority and escalation rules are set for each deployment.
Can it work with our existing alarm receiving centre?
Yes, where a compatible notification or integration is agreed. Existing accredited alarm routes can remain in place. We confirm signal compatibility and the appropriate receiving arrangement during scoping.
Can it handle 10 or 100 calls or activations at once?
We scope the number of simultaneous calls and activations your operation needs, then size and test the telephony, integrations and infrastructure for that capacity. Ten or one hundred concurrent workflows are examples of targets to discuss during scoping.
Does an AI control room need breaks or shift cover?
AI operators do not need meal breaks or sleep and do not fatigue across shifts. Continuous operation still depends on monitoring, resilience and agreed fallback arrangements.
Can it arrange cover when an officer calls in sick?
For configured guarding workflows, it can check agreed requirements, seek an eligible replacement and escalate gaps that cannot be resolved under the agreed procedure.
Does it handle time and attendance?
Time-and-attendance checks can be part of the operation, with exceptions surfaced for review rather than silently treated as resolved.
What happens when a situation needs a person?
The operation follows agreed escalation contacts and thresholds. Actions and exceptions are recorded so people can review what happened and make decisions where required.
